Application of geotechnical non-woven fabric

The basic functions of geotechnical non-woven fabrics in geotechnical construction have four aspects: reinforcement, filtration, isolation, and drainage. These four functions can be used independently or at the same time under different circumstances.


(1) Reinforcement: Just like in reinforced concrete structures, steel bars are used as reinforcement elements, and geonon-woven fabrics are also reinforcement elements in the structure. At the same time, the geonon-woven fabric can distribute the load to a larger area, reduce the local pressure, and also play a strengthening role.


(2) Filtration: In the geotechnical structure, two different materials are separated. For example, adding a geo-non-woven fabric between the granular layer of the roadbed and the foundation soil layer can prevent the lower soil from rising into the granular layer under the action of liquid force, or the upper layer of granular stones sinking into the soil layer. Water passes freely.


(3) Grooming: This function is only available for needle-punched geotechnical non-woven fabrics. That is, in the geotechnical structure, water or gas can be channeled along the layer of the needle-punched geonon-woven fabric, and it can be realized under a small capillary pressure.


Because of these functions, they are widely used in the actual use of geotechnical engineering.
