1 Introduction Non-woven abrasive tools are flexible abrasive tools with three-dimensional structure and high elasticity composed of non-woven fabrics, abrasives, and adhesives. In the past ten years, their applications in China have been rapidly developed, and their fields have expanded to machinery, Electronics, plastics, furniture, automobiles, building materials and many other industries. The advantages of non-woven abrasive tools compared to traditional coated abrasive tools are that when applied to the surface treatment of the workpiece, the processed surface is more beautiful, the service life is longer, and the workpiece matrix is u200bu200bnot damaged. Therefore, as the requirements for processing surfaces in various fields become increasingly strict, the demand for this kind of abrasive tools will increase. 2. Manufacturing process of non-woven abrasive tools 1. Raw materials Non-woven abrasive tools are mainly composed of non-woven fabrics, abrasives and adhesives. Non-woven fabric: The raw material can be polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride and other short fibers, and the non-woven fabric is made by air-laid method. Abrasives: silicon carbide, alumina, garnet, ceramic corundum, etc. Adhesive: epoxy resin, phenolic resin, urea resin, furfural resin, etc. Different raw materials produce products with different characteristics, and the raw materials should be selected according to the product performance and the requirements of the processed workpiece. 2. Manufacturing process The Coated Abrasives Branch of China Machine Tool u0026 Tool Industry Association sponsors China Coated Abrasives Network (http://www.cncaa.org). First, the short fiber is made into a fluffy three-dimensional structure by air-laid machine. Woven fabric, the unit weight is 50-500 grams, and then the mixture composed of abrasive and adhesive is coated on the non-woven fabric substrate. Generally, there are the following two coating methods: ⑴ The process flow of the dipping method is: mixing This method is used in the production of non-woven nylon wheels for rubber padding, lamination and curing. ⑵ Spraying method The process flow of the spraying method is: mixed material spraying curing processing The production of industrial scouring pad generally adopts this method. Another manufacturing process is to mix plastic chips and abrasives and extrude them to produce a non-woven fabric matrix or monofilament fibers containing abrasives, which can be used directly after processing. Three characteristics of non-woven abrasives The structure of non-woven abrasives (Figure 1) determines that it has the following characteristics that other types of abrasives do not have. China Machine Tool Industry Association Coated Abrasives Branch sponsored China Coated Abrasives Network (http://www.cncaa.org) 1. Long service life: more than 90% of the porosity will not cause blockage, and the three-dimensional structure is Determine the long life of non-woven abrasive tools. 2. Good heat dissipation: The meshed three-dimensional structure ensures heat dissipation and will not burn the workpiece. 3. Elastic grinding: high elasticity and flexibility, can be used to process complex surfaces with grooves and grooves. Good elasticity can effectively prevent excessive grinding and scratching of the surface of the workpiece, and will not change the shape of the workpiece. 4. Water and oil resistance: The fiber used for non-woven abrasive tools has strong water and oil resistance. 5. Safe and non-polluting: The non-woven abrasive tools have no noise when used, and the dust is very small, which can provide operators with a comfortable, safe and pollution-free environment.
