Classification of nonwoven fiber raw materials and how to choose suitable raw materials

Fiber raw materials are necessary raw materials for the manufacture of non-woven fabrics. Today we will discuss the classification of fiber raw materials and how to choose suitable raw materials. 1. The classification of fibers is suitable for non-woven fabrics. Traditionally, it can be divided into the following two categories according to the source of raw materials. (1) Natural fiber. These include cotton, hemp, silk, wool and asbestos fibers. (2) Chemical fiber. Commonly used viscose fiber, acetate fiber, polyester, polypropylene, polypropylene, acrylic fiber, vinylon, chloroprene, aramid fiber, carbon fiber, glass fiber and metal fiber. 2. At present, chemical fiber has become the main raw material of non-woven fabrics, accounting for about 95%. This is because chemical fibers have several advantages. (1) Most chemical fibers have better physical and mechanical properties than natural fibers, such as strength, elongation and corrosion resistance. (2) There are fewer impurities in chemical fibers, which can simplify the fiber preparation process. (3) According to some special requirements of non-woven fabrics, differentiated fibers with various characteristics can be provided. (4) The consistency of the length and fineness of the chemical fiber is good, which can be controlled according to the requirements of the production process. 3. How to choose specific fiber varieties in the production of nonwovens is a very important and complicated issue. Generally, the following principles should be followed in the selection. (1) The selected fiber should be able to meet the performance requirements of the product. Shows the properties of several main fibers (2) The specifications and performance of the optical fiber should be consistent with the processing capabilities and characteristics of the production equipment. For example, wet webs generally require fiber lengths of less than 25mm; carded networks generally require fiber lengths between 20 and 150mm.
