[Abstract] Compared with traditional cotton packaging, medical non-woven packaging has ideal sterilization and antibacterial effects, and reduces packaging costs. It reduces manpower and material resources to varying degrees, saves medical resources, and reduces the risk of hospital infection. Play a certain role in controlling the occurrence of nosocomial infections. It can replace cotton cloth for the packaging of reusable medical equipment. It is worthy of promotion and application. [Keywords] Medical non-woven fabrics, all cotton fabrics, sterilization, anti-bacterial, cost performance, our hospital started to use medical non-woven fabrics and cotton fabrics for packaging sterilized items in June 2005. In order to determine the validity period of the medical non-woven packaging materials after sterilization, in the existing hospital environment, and to understand the difference in performance from cotton packaging, the disinfection supply room of our hospital conducted a half-year antibacterial effect experiment and made Cost and performance comparison. 1 Materials and methods 1.1 Material: Double-layer cotton cloth wrapped with 140 yarns of 100% cotton; double-layer 60g/m2 medical non-woven fabric, 1 batch of medical equipment, 1 batch of self-contained biological indicator and nutrient agar medium, Pulsating vacuum sterilizer. 1.2 Sample group A: double-layer 50cm×50cm medical non-woven fabric, according to the conventional packaging, 1 large and small curved plate, 20 medium cotton balls in the middle, 1 12cm curved hemostatic forceps, 1 tongue depressor, 14cm 1 dressing forceps, 45 packs in total. Group B: Double-layer cotton cloth wraps the same items according to the conventional packaging method, 45 bags. There are 5 self-contained biological indicators in each package. Place a chemical indicator card in the bag, and use chemical indicator tape to seal the outside of the bag. Meet the requirements of the National Sanitation 'Disinfection Technical Specifications'. 1.3 Sterilization and effect test All packages are sterilized by pressure steam at the same time, temperature is 132℃, pressure is 0.21MPa. At the end of the sterilization, 10 packages with self-contained biological indicators were immediately sent to the microbiology laboratory for biological culture, and the sterilization effect was observed for 48 hours. Other packages are stored in a sterile cabinet in the sterile room of the sterile supply room. During the 6 to 12 months of the test, the sterile room shall be conducted once a month with air bacteria count of 56 to 158 cfu/m3, temperature 20 to 25 ℃, humidity 35% to 70%, and surface cells of the sterile cabinet ≤ 5Ccfu/cm Sterilize. 1.4 Detection method Number the packages of group A and group B, respectively, and randomly select 5 packages from 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days, 150 days, and 180 days after sterilization. In the microbiology laboratory Sampling in the biological safety cabinet, put it into nutrient agar medium for bacterial culture. Bacterial culture is carried out in accordance with the 'Methods for the detection of disinfection effect of articles and environmental surfaces' in the 'Disinfection Technical Specifications' of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. 2 Results 2.1 After sterilization, the biological culture of the instrument package packaged with cotton cloth and medical non-woven cloth was negative, and the sterilization effect was achieved. 2.2 Testing during storage period The instrument package packaged in cotton cloth grows aseptically within the validity period of 14 days, and bacteria grow in the second month, and the experiment ends. No bacterial growth was found in the medical non-woven fabric package for 6 months. 2.3 Cost comparison Medical non-woven fabric is used for one-time use. Take the specification of 50cm×50cm as an example, the price is 2.3 yuan. The cost of making a 50cm×50cm double layer of cotton cloth is 15.2 yuan. Taking 30 times as an example, the cost of each washing is 2 yuan. Ignore the labor cost and the cost of consumable materials in the bag, and only compare the cost of the cloth. 3 Discussion 3.1 Comparison of antibacterial effect The experiment shows that the antibacterial effect of medical non-woven fabric is obviously better than that of cotton cloth. Because of the multi-space arrangement of medical non-woven fabrics, high-pressure steam and other media can be bent and penetrate into the show room bag, with a penetration rate of 100%, which has a high barrier effect against bacteria, and the bacteria permeation filtration experiment shows that it is as high as 98%. The bacterial penetration transition rate of cotton cloth is 8%-30%. After repeated washing and ironing, its fiber structure is deformed, resulting in sparse cloth holes and even small holes that are not easily detectable by the naked eye, resulting in the failure of packaging to isolate bacteria. 3.2 Cost comparison The cost of single packaging of these two packaging materials is different, and the cost of long-term storage of aseptic packages is quite different. The cost of medical non-woven fabrics is significantly lower than that of cotton fabrics. In addition, the table does not list the repeated expiration of the cotton cloth packaging sterile bag, the loss of consumable materials in the bag, the energy consumption of water, electricity, gas, detergent and other energy consumption during reprocessing, as well as the transportation, cleaning and packaging of the laundry room and the supply room. , The labor cost of sterilization, and the medical non-woven fabric does not have the above consumption. 3.3 Performance comparison After more than one year of use (July, August and September of the experiment are humid climate, October, November, and December are dry climate, representative), we have summarized the performance of cotton cloth and non-woven fabric The difference is that pure cotton cloth has the advantage of good compliance, but it has the defects of cotton dust pollution and poor biological barrier. In the experiment, the bacteria growth of the sterile bag is related to the humid environment, the storage condition is high, and the validity period is short; It affects the biological barrier function of medical non-woven fabrics. Therefore, medical non-woven fabrics have the advantages of good sterilization effect, convenient use, long storage period, and safety. Medical non-woven fabrics are generally better than cotton fabrics. Compared with traditional cotton packaging, medical non-woven packaging has ideal sterilization and antibacterial effects, and reduces packaging costs, reduces the risk of hospital infections to varying degrees, and plays a certain role in controlling the occurrence of hospital infections. It can replace Cotton cloth is used for the packaging of reusable medical equipment and is worthy of promotion and application. References [1] Huang Hong, Liao Jingqun, Lan Liping, et al.
