Non-woven fabric: manufacturing and application

Non-woven fabrics: manufacture and process important data about natural and synthetic fibers, which are used in industry to develop products for different purposes. Although synthetic fibers are widely used in the nonwoven industry to manufacture various products, natural fibers have steadily occupied the market due to some obvious advantages. In this regard, this book provides an overview of various manufacturing techniques for non-woven fabrics made from natural fibers such as cotton, jute, linen and hemp. Next, the author evaluated the structure, performance, evaluation and application of jute and jute blended needle-punched non-woven fabrics to help those who use natural tongue cellulose fiber-based needle-punched non-woven fabrics. In addition, flax/low-melting polyester needle-punched non-woven fabrics are also produced and used for thermal insulation. The test results show that as the% of low melting PET and the depth of needle penetration increase, the thermal resistance decreases. Six types of recycled nonwoven samples were developed using thermal bonding and aerodynamic methods. These samples are characterized by their physical properties, such as areal density, bulk density, thickness, porosity, air permeability, and heat resistance. The author assessed that the increased use of flame-retardant materials in industry has put tremendous pressure on the scientific community to develop new polymer materials, chemicals and fiber combinations for such applications. The book concludes with an overview of the history of non-woven geotextiles, commonly used raw materials, manufacturing processes, performance, functions and applications. The potential use of recycled non-woven geotextiles in sustainable construction was also discussed.
