Sui County Yindian Non-woven Seedling Raising Successfully

This is what the author saw in a seedling field in the second group of Quhe Village, Yindian Town, Suixian County on May 2.　　Non-woven seedling breeding is still new in Suizhou. Non-woven seedling raising is to use special agricultural non-woven fabric to directly cover the seedling bed. The non-woven fabric has good air permeability, so there is no need to build a seedling shed. In order to better help farmers increase their income this year, the Yindian Town Supply and Marketing Cooperative introduced non-woven seedling raising technology from other places and conducted experiments on non-woven seedling raising in three villages including Quhe Village in the town. Liu Qingkui, director of the Yindian Town Supply and Marketing Cooperative, introduced that non-woven seedlings have five advantages compared with ordinary film seedlings: First, it is simple to operate and save labor and effort. The second is the high rate of emergence, and the seedlings are short and strong. The third is to reduce pests and diseases. Fourth, the cost of raising seedlings is low. The fifth is to reduce environmental pollution. Experiments in relevant areas show that dry-raised seedlings should be covered with non-woven fabrics, which are comparable to agricultural film mulching. Seedlings emerge neatly, with a higher seedling rate, more tillers, strong growth, strong stems, strong root vitality, fast greening after transplanting, early tillers and early development. The root rate is strong, laying a good material foundation for the high yield of rice.　　 It is reported that the Yindian Supply and Marketing Cooperative has successfully used non-woven fabrics to raise 30,000 seedlings in Quhe Village, Parrot Village and Dukoushan Village in the town. These seedlings are green and healthy and growing well. It is expected that from May 15th, these seedlings will be sent to farmers’ seedling fields for planting.
