Woven fabrics are made by weaving together strands of pattern yarn. The warp threads are strung vertically on the loom, and then the weft threads are woven across the warp threads. When the weft yarn reaches the end, it can be looped and passed back in other ways to form an S-shaped curve, which advances the loom. Woven fabrics are easy to cut, and many different patterns can be made on the surface of the fabric. There are several different methods used in weaving. The simple passing mode of plain weave creates the strongest fabric, and the more delicate weave, like satin drape, creates a more delicate fabric, and is often used in clothing. Twill weave is a diagonal pattern weave that combines strength and flexibility. Its most well-known use is to make denim blue jeans. A machine on the weaving fabric, whose purpose is to keep the warp in place, while the weft weaving are made through a square structure. Hand looms made of wood have been used in cultures all over the world for thousands of years. However, industrial looms used in large fabric manufacturing plants are usually made of metal because of the heavy physical requirements of the loom.
