Plastic limit has led to a surge in sales of recyclable non-woven bags

Professional organizations such as the Green Packaging Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences issued a reminder to businesses and consumers: 'Non-woven bags are also plastic products, and long-term use in large quantities will probably become another huge source of white pollution after plastic bags. According to reports, the current raw material composition of the non-woven fabric industry is roughly as follows: 63% is polypropylene, 23% is polyester, 8% is viscose, 2% is acrylic fiber, 1.5% is polyamide, and the rest is other fibers. Since the reuse rate of non-woven bags is much higher than that of plastic bags, it is very environmentally friendly from this point of view. However, the main component of non-woven fabrics is polypropylene, which is a petrochemical product. This material is difficult to degrade at room temperature or indoor environment, and it takes about half a year to degrade in outdoor environment. In the opinion of some experts,'non-woven fabric itself is also a chemical product, not the best substitute'. In addition, non-woven fabrics consume a lot of petroleum resources in the production process. From this point of view, non-woven shopping bags are not really environmentally friendly bags. At the same time, the plastic restriction order also prompted some businesses, especially shopping malls, to use paper bags in large quantities. In the eyes of environmentalists, although paper bags can be degraded in the natural environment, energy resource consumption and environmental pollution caused by the papermaking process may be more serious than plastic shopping bags. The relevant person in charge of the China Engineering Plastics Industry Association believes that paper bags, biodegradable bags, or other so-called 'green' and 'environmentally friendly' packaging products have a certain impact on the environment, but they are relatively small. The real reason for the white pollution of plastic bags is excessive use and inadequate recycling. According to the standard, plastic shopping bags are divided into three types, namely ordinary plastic shopping bags, degradable plastic shopping bags, and starch-based plastic shopping bags. According to reports, only degradable plastic bags are environmental protection bags, which are divided into two types: photodegradation and biodegradation. Experts pointed out that due to technical limitations, most of the so-called 'environmental protection bags' currently appearing in some markets in my country are not degradable. Therefore, in a sense, if the cost of biodegradable plastic bags is reduced to a level acceptable to the common people, then consumers can continue to enjoy convenience and practicality while effectively eliminating white pollution. Moreover, the purpose of plastic restriction is to encourage consumers to re-carry cloth bags and carry vegetable baskets, thereby reducing white pollution and achieving environmental protection. Therefore, while looking for other natural and bio-substitutable products, experts believe that it may be more important to change the public's consumption concept.
